CHEMICAL PEELS
Brighter, smoother skin, peeled back with care
Every peel is chosen for your skin, from light brightening peels with little downtime to deeper medium-strength options for scarring and sun damage.
Overview
A chemical peel is a professional treatment that applies an acid solution, such as glycolic, lactic, mandelic, salicylic or TCA, to loosen and remove dead skin cells. This encourages new cell turnover, leaving skin smoother and brighter. Peels range in strength, and the right one depends on your skin type and concerns.

Your visit
01
Your aesthetician assesses your skin and history, recommends a peel and strength, and may ask you to pause retinoids or exfoliants for several days beforehand.
02
Skin is cleansed, then the peel is applied in layers for a controlled time. Some peels are neutralized, others self-neutralize. Expect warmth or tingling.
03
Light peels may cause redness and flaking for a few days. Medium peels typically peel for 5 to 7 days. Moisturize, let skin shed naturally and use SPF daily.
Results
After a light peel, skin typically looks brighter and smoother within a week, once any flaking ends. Medium-strength peels can soften pigmentation, scarring and fine lines more noticeably, with results appearing after one to two weeks of healing. Many clients see the most change across a series of three to six peels. Daily sunscreen helps preserve your results. Individual results vary.
It depends on the strength. Light peels may cause no visible peeling, or mild flaking for two to four days. Medium-strength peels typically peel for five to seven days. Let skin shed on its own and avoid picking, which can cause irritation or marks.
The right peel depends on your skin type, tone and concerns. Lactic and mandelic acids suit sensitive skin, salicylic acid suits oily and acne-prone skin, and TCA is used for deeper concerns. Your aesthetician will recommend a peel and strength after assessing your skin at your consultation.
Many peels can be used safely on darker skin tones when chosen carefully. Gentler acids such as mandelic and lactic carry less risk of pigment change, and skin may be prepared in advance. Stronger peels need more caution. Your provider will match the peel to your skin.
Light peels can often be repeated every two to four weeks as part of a series. Medium-strength peels need more time for skin to recover, often several months between treatments. Your aesthetician will set a schedule based on the peel used and how your skin responds.
For about a week, avoid direct sun, retinoids, scrubs, waxing and other exfoliating products. Skip saunas and intense workouts for the first day or two. Keep skin moisturized, use gentle cleansers and wear broad-spectrum SPF daily to protect new skin as it surfaces.
